DIY Fabric Bead Necklace

Here's a fun DIY project for your weekend: A fabric and bead necklace. It's easy to make an it's a great summer accessory. To make the necklace above, you will need the following supplies:

1 piece of thin fabric measuring 5" x 44"
2 1-inch wooden beads
3 1.25-inch wooden beads
thread
sewing machine

Step 1: Hem each of the short ends of your length of fabric.

Step 2: You will sew the length of fabric into a tube with the wrong side of the fabric facing out. Place one of your larger balls in the fabric to measure how narrow you should sew your tube.

Step 3: Pin the length of the fabric and then sew it.

Step 4: Pin a safety pin to one end of the tube; you will use this to turn the tube of fabric right side out.

Step 5: Start pushing the safety pin throught he fabric tube until it comes through the opposite side and keep pulling until the tube is fully reversed.

Step 6: Place one of the 1.25-inch beads into the fabric tube.

Step 7: Push the wooden bead until it reaches the center of the fabric tube.

Step 8: Tie tight knots on either side of the bead.
Step 9: Put a 1.25-inch bead in each side of the tube (on either side of the first bead) and tie knots to keep them in place.
Step 10: Put a 1.25-inch bead in each side of the tube (on either side of the three 1.25-inch beads) and tie knots to keep them in place.
Step 11: Sew the two ends of the fabric tube together.
