Slipcovering Electronics?

My wonderful boyfriend has excellent taste, and for the most part, I am thrilled with everything he has brought to our apartment. However, he arrived with some ugly electronics, in particular, a huge, hideous printer to print his photographs. While I'd love to hide it somewhere out of sight, it looks like it'll need to remain in the open.

Initially, I joked that I was going to sew slipcovers for the printer and the rest of his electronics, but then, after a moment's pause, I realized it wasn't such a bad idea. Above is a flat screen TV, which the editors of the now defunct Blueprint magazine slip covered. What do you think? Am I nuts?
